Town Planner Trainees at the Edo State Government

• The successful candidates will be trained for 1 (One) year under the scheme.
• At the end of program, successful candidates will be offered permanent employment with the Edo State Government.

Job Description

• Predict population demands that will be made on an area, whether urban or rural.
• Preparing reports and plans relating to projects arising from the Masterplans.
• Review and evaluate technical environmental impact reports pertaining to private and public projects and programs.
• Zoning of lands into different uses and selection of land or site for special development such as schools, stadiums, railways etc.
• Preparing preliminary design for layout plans and civic designs
• Undertake investigation of sites for Government projects and other public schemes and uses.
• Collecting physical and social survey data and various field information for the purpose of assessing the effects on town planning decisions and purposes.
• Examining of building plans and physical development proposals.
• Assist in protecting buildings and areas that are of environmental, historical and archeological importance.
• Assist to mediate community disputes and assist in developing alternate plans and recommendations for programs or projects.
• Coordinate the work of the urban planning officers, staffs, technical technicians and technologists.
