Job Description

  • The position manages and provides hardware and software maintenance, training and consultation, and recommendations about future planning and development of resources.
  • The incumbent provides these services in an effective and efficient manner that will ensure maximum access to and implementation of technology services and resources.
  • The successful candidate is responsible for the computer systems within the organization, oversees the installation, ensures backup systems operate effectively, makes recommendations for hardware and software, provides ICT technology infrastructures, and contributes to organizational policy regarding quality standards and strategic planning.
  • Monitor and maintain on-premises servers, ensuring they are up and running smoothly.
  • Perform regular server maintenance tasks such as updates, patches, and backups.
  • Troubleshoot server issues and investigate and resolve server-related problems.
  • Optimize server performance and ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Manage and monitor cloud servers (e.g., Azure, AWS) to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Deploy and configure cloud-based virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
  • Implement and maintain security measures for cloud infrastructure, including access controls and data encryption.
  • Collaborate with cloud service providers to optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency.
  • Manage Azure resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, networks, and security groups.
  • Deploy and configure Azure services like Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure App Service.
  • Monitor and optimize Azure resources for performance, scalability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Implement Azure governance policies and security controls to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Configure and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Implement network security measures, such as firewall rules, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
  • Collaborate with network service providers to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related problems.
  • Assist users with software installations, updates, and configurations.
  • Resolve user issues through remote assistance or on-site support.
  • Train users on IT tools and systems, creating user guides and documentation as needed.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls for various IT systems.
  • Monitor system logs and perform regular system audits to ensure security and compliance.
  • Manage system backups and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate systems, implement upgrades, and resolve interdependent issues.
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and supporting IT deployments.
  • Contribute to the deployment documentation, including requirements, specifications, and progress reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure deployment milestones are achieved.
  • Test and evaluate new technologies or software solutions.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across IT infrastructure.
  • Monitor systems for potential security breaches and promptly respond to security incidents.
  • Stay updated on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Create and update technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with the IT team and end-users.
  • Continuously improve documentation processes and contribute to knowledge management initiatives.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to the organization.
  • Identify areas for improvement in IT infrastructure and processes.
  • Propose and implement solutions to enhance system performance, security, and efficiency.
  • Participate in professional development activities to expand technical skills and knowledge.

Job Requirement

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences, or a related field;
  • Considerable experience in the field of information technology, including experience supervising technical staff;
  • Thorough knowledge of system development methods used for the development of new systems and enhancements to existing information systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of advanced concepts and basic operating principles of data communications and information systems hardware and software.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer monitoring systems, vendor-supplied packaged programs, macros, utilities, and other highly technical programs.
  • Thorough knowledge of M365 applications
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions.
  • Ability to use programming procedures and techniques in the implementation of computer programs.
  • Ability to conduct training and informational sessions.
